1 dead in Summerville officer-involved shooting: coroner
SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) – One person is dead following an officer-involved shooting at a Summerville mobile park.
The Dorchester County Coroner’s Office identified the individual as 61-year-old Patrick David Hatcher, who was shot and killed in his mobile home by Summerville Police officers.
Hatcher was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:18 p.m. by the coroner.
Deputy Chief Chris Hirsch with the Summerville Police Department said officers had responded to the Summerville Mobile Home Park around 8 p.m. Saturday for a welfare check.
Once there, officers heard gunshots and engaged the suspect. An officer fired his gun and injured the suspect, who is now deceased.
