Police investigate shooting at Rivers Avenue club; 2 injured

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – At least two people were injured in connection with a Tuesday night shooting at a Rivers Avenue club.

Officers with the North Charleston Police Department initially responded to the Sunoco at the corner of Rivers Ave. and Remount Rd. for an injured victim.

It was determined that the female victim was hurt while running from the nearby Aqua Lounge, according to a report from the department.

The victim told police that she was inside the club, that a shooting happened, and that she ran from the club when she was injured.

Shortly after, officers learned that another victim walked into a nearby hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.

According to the report, security officers at the club initially told police that the shooting happened outside; however, a brief investigation found the incident did happen inside.

Police officials say there have been no arrests in this case, but the investigation is ongoing.
