Possible lightning strike sparks house fire in Cane Bay community

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A home in the Cane Bay community was damaged in a fire possibly caused by a lightning strike.

Severe storms moved through Berkeley County on Tuesday morning.

Officials in Berkeley County said they received a call about a house fire on Squire Pope Road around 11:38 a.m.

The fire burned one home; however, crews arrived to find that two adjacent homes were also damaged, although the damage was minimal.

No injuries were reported.
