Body recovered at Bushy Park Boat Landing, officials say

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Emergency crews responded Wednesday to a drowning at a Goose Creek boat landing.

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office told News 2 that dive teams recovered the body of a man at the Bushy Park Boat Landing around noon.

Officials with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources said that preliminary information indicated the individual slipped while docking their boat and suffered a head injury.

The cause of death remains under investigation. The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has not yet identified the victim.

People are asked to avoid the area. The boat landing is closed until further notice.
