Woman attacked while jogging on Ingleside Blvd., report says

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Authorities are investigating after a woman said she was attacked while jogging along Ingleside Boulevard late Wednesday night.

Officers with the North Charleston Police Department responded to a call regarding an “attempted abduction” around 9:49 p.m.

The victim told police she was jogging near a construction site when an unknown person approached her from behind, grabbed her mouth, and tackled her into the grass, according to an incident report.

The victim screamed during the length of the attack. The suspect gave up during the struggle and ran off toward Weber Boulevard.

According to the report, the victim was out later than normal, which prompted concern from her two roommates. They eventually found her running from the construction site and brought her back home.

No arrests have been made.
