1 critically injured in Johns Island crash

JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. (WCBD) – An overnight crash on Johns Island knocked out power and closed a roadway for hours.

St. Johns Fire District officials said Edenvale Road was closed following a single-vehicle crash with a power pole.

The crash happened around 1 a.m.

Fire officials said the driver was extricated from the vehicle and taken to an area hospital with critical injuries.

The agency said around 7:40 a.m. that Berkeley Electric Cooperative was working to restore power.
