Woman critically injured after tree limb falls on her in Colleton County
COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A woman was critically injured Wednesday after a tree limb fell on her, according to Colleton County fire officials.
The limb struck her in the head at a residence on Carn Street at 4:56 p.m. She was with a 6-year-old child and collapsed in the yard from a head injury.
The child was not injured. Luckily, an ambulance was only blocks away when the incident was called in.
When first responders arrived, the woman was suffering from cardiac arrest, Colleton County Fire-Rescue said.
Firefighter-paramedics immediately began CPR before taking the woman to Colleton Medical Center, where he pulse was regained. She was later flown to the trauma center at Trident Medical Center, where she is recovering but still in critical condition.
