Very hot temperatures expected Friday
MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – Very hot temperatures will settle in over the next few days, with potentially record-breaking heat Friday afternoon.
Storm Team 2 Meteorologist Jed Christoph said temperatures will warm into the mid-90s away from the coast, with the beaches in the mid-80s.
However, as the day warms, we could break the record high of 94°, which was set back in 1941. The forecast high for Friday is 95°, and heat index values – or that “feels like” temperature – will approach 100° for some.

“It looks like a hot weekend ahead, too, with highs in the low 90s,” said Christoph. “Can’t rule out a stray shower or two Saturday, but mostly dry conditions until late Sunday, with a better chance of PM showers and thunderstorms.”
Be sure to hydrate and take plenty of breaks if you are outdoors during the day.
