Coroner IDs person killed in Bowen Pier Drive shooting

HANAHAN, S.C. (WCBD) – The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office identified a person killed during a Monday night shooting in Hanahan.

Officers responded to Bowen Pier Drive around 9 p.m. and found a person dead. Coroner Darnell Hartwell identified that individual as 18-year-old Tra’sean White from Wadmalaw Island.

Hanahan police said they had one person detained; however, the agency did not publicly identify that individual or say whether they would be charged in connection with the shooting.
