Coroner identifies Breach Inlet drowning victims

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Charleston County’s coroner identified a man and woman who died after being pulled from the water at Breach Inlet earlier this week.

Yoselin Lopez-Perez, 18, and Guillermo Quintero-Camacho, 28, died hours apart at the Medical University of South Carolina, according to the coroner’s office.

Emergency crews responded to reports of two people struggling in the water Tuesday afternoon and brought the male and female to shore. Both were unconscious and taken to local hospitals.

Law enforcement officials said the female victim died Tuesday night and later gave an update Wednesday morning, saying the male victim also died.

The Isle of Palms Police Department is investigating.
