State troopers investigating delayed fatal collision near Moncks Corner

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A person has died days after a collision on US 17 Alternate near Moncks Corner, state troopers said Tuesday night. 

Around 3 p.m. on May 1, a 2007 Honda sedan was traveling north on the roadway near Horseshoe Road. The Honda struck a 2002 Toyota Camry that was turning left into a driveway from the southbound lane. 

The passenger and driver of the Camry were taken to Trident Medical Center for their injuries. The passenger ultimately died on Monday. 

The driver of the Honda was not injured. The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has not yet identified the deceased. 

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
