State troopers investigating fatal collision on I-26

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – One person has died after a single-vehicle collision on I-26 Wednesday.

The driver of a Nissan sedan was traveling west on I-26 when the driver ran off the road and struck a guardrail near mile marker 177.

The collision occurred around 12:55 p.m. The driver was the only occupant in the vehicle and died from their injuries.

The Dorchester County Coroner’s Office has not yet identified the deceased. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
