Walterboro police looking for woman wanted in deadly Grace Street shooting investigation

WALTERBORO, S.C. (WCBD) – Authorities in Walterboro are searching for a woman wanted in connection with a deadly shooting.

Officers with the Walterboro Police Department responded Monday to a location on Grace Street for reports of several gunshots being heard.

Responding officers found a 56-year-old woman suffering from at least one gunshot wound. She was taken to Colleton Medical Center but did not survive her injuries.

Police said they were able to identify 41-year-old Michelle Gladys Bingley as the shooter based on evidence gathered at the scene. She is wanted on a murder charge, according to the agency.

“The incident appears to have been related to an argument between Bingley and her estranged husband who was also present on scene,” said police officials.

This ID photo of Bingley and image of the car she may be driving were provided by Walterboro PD as part of an active investigation.

The investigation is ongoing. Authorities ask that anyone with information about this incident or Bingley’s whereabouts contact Sgt. Fisk by calling 843-782-1031.
