Charleston Sprint Triathlon Series | James Island County Park

The Charleston Sprint Triathlon Series is back this summer at James Island County Park! The 2025 races will be held on June 15, July 6, and July 27, with the Championship Race set for Aug. 10.

Sure to get adrenaline pumping, each race in the Charleston Sprint Triathlon Series features a 600-yard freshwater swim, then a 12-mile bike ride, and finally a 5K flat run. Over the years, over 30,000 people have raced in the series.

Race Fees and Awards
Race fees are $66 for races 1-3 and $72 for the championship race. Athletes may register for multiple races if interested and discounts will be available through multi-race packages. Advance registration is required (no on-site registration) and spaces are limited, so register online here now. Registration ends the Wednesday prior to each race.

Participants must be comfortable swimming 600 yards in open water and riding a bicycle on roads open to traffic. For additional details on the race, including a race map, and other notes for participants, visit the event website at https://ccprc.com/1507/Charleston-Sprint-Triathlon.

After each race, awards will be given to the top three men and top three women in the Open/Elite and Open/Elite Masters (40+) divisions. Age Group awards will be in five-year increments and will be three deep in all age groups. Prime awards will be presented to the top males and females in the individual events, and additional award divisions will also be available. Each participant is also given one shirt for the series. Participants who participate in multiple races will accumulate points throughout the series to be included in the Championship. A special Championship awards ceremony and post-race celebration will be held following the Aug. 10 race.

Athletes must be at least 12 years of age to participate. Any young athlete ages 7-15 is encouraged to participate in Charleston County Parks’ annual Youth Triathlon at James Island County Park on July 26. This event is an excellent opportunity for younger athletes to get the triathlon experience in a safe and well-maintained environment.
