Shooting at Walterboro apartment complex leaves 15-year-old dead

WALTERBORO, S.C. (WCBD) – A teenager is dead following a weekend shooting in Walterboro.

Law enforcement responded to the Forest Pointe Apartments around 6 p.m. Sunday for reports of a disturbance at the 300 building.

Once there, officers with the Walterboro Police Department found an unresponsive 15-year-old male and began administering CPR until paramedics arrived.

Officials with Colleton County Fire Rescue said the teenager “suffered a fatal gunshot wound and had no signs of life.”

No other details were provided. The Walterboro Police Department is investigating.
