Coroner identifies man killed during family altercation in Reevesville

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The victim of a Wednesday night homicide in Dorchester County has been identified.

Jeremy G. Britt, 31, of Reevesville, died from gunshot wounds he received during a family altercation at a home on Wire Road, according to Dorchester County Coroner Paul Brouthers.

Dorchester County deputies responded to the Reevesville home shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday and found the shooting victim, Britt, dead at the scene.

One person was arrested in connection with the incident; however, their identity was not released.

Britt is expected to undergo an autopsy at the Medical University of South Carolina on Friday morning.

The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office and the Dorchester County Coroner’s Office are investigating.
