Summerville residents invited to share vision for town’s future through online survey
SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) – Anyone who lives, works, or plays in the Town of Summerville is encouraged to participate in a brief online survey that could help determine the community’s next 15 years.
“We’re entering what I would call a vision planning process for the community,” said Summerville Mayor Russ Touchberry. “We really want to hear from our community members on what they want the town to be like in 15 years.”
The town and Dorchester County split the costs on the roughly $100,000 survey to gather feedback on ideas, hopes, and priorities for the next several years. That information will help influence growth, development, and community investment.
Officials say small focus groups have been meeting this week, and public meetings will be held throughout the next several months.
People we heard from said they hope to see more local grocery and business options, more parking in downtown Summerville, and to limit the use of green space for further development.
The survey is open now through April 30. You can access the survey by clicking here.
