1 dead, 1 injured in crash near Hemingway
WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A driver was killed and another injured following a two-vehicle crash near Hemingway.
Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened Saturday around 5:40 p.m.
A Toyota sedan was traveling west on Davis Road when they attempted to cross over Highway 41; however they were struck on the driver’s side by a 2002 Chevy pickup headed north on Hwy 41.
Trooper Ridgeway said the Chevy driver was airlifted to McLeod Regional Medical Center. They did not survive the crash.
The driver of the Toyota was taken to MUSC Black River hospital with injuries.
The crash is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
