3 injured after collision in Walterboro intersection
COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Three people were injured after two vehicles collided in Colleton County on Wednesday.
Fire officials said the collision happened at the intersection of Bells Highway and I-95 in the middle of a construction zone. The pickup truck and sedan crashed into each other causing the sedan to flip onto its side, Colleton County Fire-Rescue said.
The two occupants in the sedan were trapped, and crews had to remove the windshield to free them.
The driver of the pickup truck was also injured. All three patients were taken to Colleton Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.
All westbound traffic and both southbound ramps to I-95 were blocked for an extended period.
The Walterboro Police Department is investigating this incident.
