Williamsburg County career fair offers job opportunities for residents, high school seniors
WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Job seekers in Williamsburg County can attend a career fair through the Williamsburg County School District on Thursday morning.
Organizers for the event say the job fair is designed to help residents stay local and find gainful employment, including high school seniors “wanting to find the right college or to directly enter the workforce after graduation.”
Data from the South Carolina Department of Employment Workforce shows the county with an unemployment rate of 7.2%, or roughly 779 people facing unemployment, which is one of the highest rates in the state.
Employers and universities will set up booths at the Williamsburg County School District’s headquarters in Kingstree (500 North Academy St.) for the job fair. The event will be held from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. in the Dr. Rose H. Wilder Multipurpose Room.
Those interested in jobs can browse resources from potential employers and review applications. A career coach from SC Works will be on site to assist with building and strengthening resumes, provide resources, and coaching for job readiness skills.
