Resurfacing project along West Ashley roadway to begin Monday

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A resurfacing project along a West Ashley roadway is scheduled to begin Monday evening and should be completed by mid-April.

Crews are expected to work on Ashley Town Center Drive during the evening and overnight hours (Sun- Thurs from 6 p.m. until 6 a.m.) to limit traffic disruptions.

The work, which is funded by the Charleston County Transportation Committee, includes milling and replacing the existing asphalt on Ashley Town Center Drive and the adjacent Rondo Street, which will improve safety and increase the roadway’s life span.

Drivers should anticipate some nighttime lane closures throughout the project. Traffic control flaggers will be on-site to direct motorists.

Charleston County officials say workers will “make every effort to limit disruptions” to nearby residents while the work is completed. Drivers should use caution when traveling in the area.
