Fire damages National Guard Armory in Moncks Corner
BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Emergency crews responded Sunday to a fire at the National Guard Armory in Berkeley County.
Firefighters were dispatched to the armory just after 6 p.m. and found “heavy fire conditions” in a supply room, fire officials told News 2.
The fire was extinguished at 7:05 p.m.
Santee Cooper was called in to help ventilate the facility using an air boat.
There is no word on what caused the fire; however, officials said the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is investigating since the fire was at a National Guard Armory.
No injuries were reported.
The armory building is located off Airport Drive in Moncks Corner.
