Crews repairing water main break on James Island
JAMES ISLAND, S.C. (WCBD) — Crews are working to repair a water main that broke Thursday morning on James Island.
An 8-inch main broke along Riverland Drive near Bradham Road around 11 a.m., according to Charleston Water System.
The roadway near Central Park Road remains closed to traffic. The break caused damage to storm water infrastructure, which must be evaluated before it can be reopened, spokesperson Mike Saia said.
Water service is expected to be restored to impacted customers by 6 p.m.
