ATV driver killed in Berkeley County crash

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A Saturday night crash between an ATV and SUV left one person dead and another injured.

Corporal Lena Butler with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the collision happened shortly after 10 p.m. on SC Highway 27 near Stonehenge Lane.

A Yamaha ATV was headed south and a Honda CRV was traveling north when the two collided.

The driver of the ATV died at the scene from injuries they sustained in the crash, while the driver of the Honda CRV was taken to Trident Hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Trooper Butler said the crash is under investigation.

The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office will identify the victim when appropriate.
