Charleston County Council debates oath mandate for board members
CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The Charleston County Council is holding a special meeting to discuss a measure that would require all board and commission members to take an oath of office.
This comes after a board member previously suggested members of the library board take the oath.
Initially, the Charleston County Council voted against the measure in committee by a 7-2 vote, but later reversed their decision in the next full council meeting, voting to require the oath be taken.
The county clerk will present the potential requirement at the special meeting scheduled for Thursday, March 20th, at 5 p.m.
Count on 2 for updates.
