Colleton County deputies investigate fatal shooting

COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The Colleton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that took place Monday night on Cleveland Street.

Deputies arrived at the scene at 9:30 p.m. They found an adult male victim who had suffered gunshot wounds and later died from his injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.

Officials say preliminary findings indicate the shooting stemmed from an argument inside a residence. Law enforcement said it appeared to be an isolated incident and not a random act of violence.

Authorities from the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office have identified a person of interest, Javon Kendrick Fryar, age 39.
