Cold front to bring strong winds, tornado threat

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A cold front will sweep across South Carolina on Sunday, bringing a risk of high winds, heavy rain, and a threat for isolated tornadoes.

The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a tornado watch for the entire Lowcountry region until 2 p.m.

Forecasters say damaging wind gusts associated with the squall line, an isolated tornado or thunderstorm, hail, and cloud-to-ground lightning can be expected Sunday morning into the afternoon.

A wind advisory is also active for coast Charleston and Colleton counties, and tidal Berkeley County, until 4 p.m. as south winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 or 45 mph likely
