North Charleston PD investigating deadly Saturday afternoon shooting on Preakness Drive

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Authorities in North Charleston are investigating a deadly Saturday afternoon shooting.

Officers responded to a location on Preakness Drive just before 1:30 p.m. for a reported shooting.

A man was found outside a home suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital but did not survive his injuries.

North Charleston police said a suspect was detained at the scene.

An investigation is ongoing.
