Georgetown County Council to review electric rate structure plans
GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The Georgetown County Council will meet to discuss recommendations for electric rate structures.
Raftelis Consulting will present their recommendations to the council based on the results of the cost-of-service study they conducted, according to officials.
This comes after Santee Cooper, one of the leading energy providers in the area, just approved rate increases for the first time in seven years.
Those changes are expected to go into effect in April, and will raise rates by an additional $11 per month.
Georgetown County Council will meet Thursday, March 13 at 5 p.m. at the Georgetown City Municipal Courtroom and the meeting will be livestreamed on the city’s Facebook.
