Charleston police respond to barricaded suspect situation connected to previous incident

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Officers in Charleston responded to a barricaded suspect situation Friday night in connection to an earlier investigation that temporarily shut down a section of King Street.

Beechwood Road between Cedar Petal Lane and Cypress Branch Court in West Ashley was closed while police dealt with the suspect. There was no threat to the public.

The barricaded suspect shot a vehicle downtown earlier Friday afternoon. No one was injured in the shooting.

King Street between Huger Street and Sumter Street was closed for a brief period while the Charleston Police Department completed an initial investigation.
