Old Towne Creek Park to open with new amenities by early 2026

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Charleston County Parks released an update on the construction of Old Towne Creek County Park with an anticipated opening in late 2025 to early 2026.

Officials say many of the amenities are starting to take shape, including renovations to an existing structure that will become the new Park Center. A Learning Center with an outdoor classroom and restrooms will also be constructed along with a new nature-inspired playground.

Trails are being developed to circle the park and offer a spectacular view of the Old Town Creek.

Organizers say the trail system will also include a boardwalk and an overlook area.

Underground water, sewer, and electrical work have also been done on the site.

Charleston County Parks also partnered with Clemson School of Architecture’s CommunityBUILD program to build an on-site shelter. Students worked to prefabricate materials, bring them on-site, and build the shelter together.
