Wednesday night pursuit in Charleston County leaves 1 dead, 2 injured
CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – One person is dead, and two others were injured following a pursuit that happened Wednesday in southern Charleston County.
The crash happened around 9:48 p.m. on Fort Johnson Road near Silver Leaf Circle.
Lance Cpl. Lena Butler with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said a 2007 Dodge Charger was attempting to evade law enforcement when the vehicle ran off the road and hit a tree.
The driver and one passenger were injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment; however, another passenger was injured and died at the scene.
No other details were provided. The incident is under investigation.
