Babysitter at center of ‘sextortion’ investigation faces additional charges involving juvenile on Isle of Palms
ISLE OF PALMS, S.C. (WCBD) – A man at the center of a multi-agency ‘sextortion’ investigation is facing additional charges on the Isle of Palms.
Brandon Estiven Brill, 25, of Moncks Corner, was charged Thursday morning with one count of criminal solicitation of a minor and one count of disseminating obscene material to a minor under 12 years old.
The charges stem from an incident in February 2024 in which the mother of the victim told Isle of Palms officers that she found inappropriate and sexually explicit text messages on her juvenile son’s phone.
Brill was determined to be the sender of those images and messages, according to Sgt. Matt Storen with Isle of Palms PD.
“Brill was a nanny in multiple communities in the tri-county area until his recent arrest. IOPPD detectives are working with Mount Pleasant Police Department and our federal law enforcement partners for this case,” said Sgt. Storen.
As the investigation continues, Sgt. Storen asks that anyone with information about the suspect contact the agency by calling 843-886-6522.
Mount Pleasant officers and ICE agents arrested Brill on Feb. 19 for three charges of sexual exploitation of a minor, criminal solicitation of a minor, and felony sexual extortion.
Those charges came after authorities began an investigation into a minor being extorted for child sexual abuse material images.
