Deputies investigating deadly shooting in Summerville neighborhood

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Deputies in Dorchester County are investigating a deadly Tuesday night subdivision shooting.

The shooting occurred on Oak View Way in The Ponds of Summerville subdivision, according to Steven Wright, spokesperson for the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the area around 8:20 p.m. and confirmed one person was deceased on the scene. Law enforcement are still completing an initial on-scene investigation.

Wright did not say whether any suspects were in custody, however there is no threat to the public.
