American Heart Association gearing up for Lowcountry Heart Walk
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The American Heart Association is gearing up for an annual effort aimed at saving lives step by step.
The Lowcountry Heart Walk will take place at Joe Riley Ballpark, or the Charleston RiverDogs stadium on Fishburne Street, this Saturday beginning at 8 a.m.
Local businesses and American Heart Association volunteers, along with heart disease and stroke survivors will participate in the event.
The goal of this annual walk is to enhance CPR training accessibility, bolster bystander preparedness, increase funding for vital research, and save and improve lives from cardiovascular diseases – which is the number one killer in South Carolina.
Festivities begin at 8 a.m. and the walk gets underway at 9 a.m.
