Severe storms, gusty winds expected across Charleston Metro
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Severe storms are possible Sunday as a cold front passes through the area.
The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for much of the Lowcountry until 1 p.m., and a high wind advisory is active through 6 p.m.

A line of showers and thunderstorms associated with the cold front will move into the region between 10 a.m. and noon.
“Lots of wind energy as a strong cold front moves through the eastern part of SC this morning and early afternoon. Wind gusts could get close to 50 mph, with isolated highest gusts in and around thunderstorms,” said Storm Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Rob Fowler. “Be alert for rapidly changing conditions this Sunday morning.”
