Georgetown playground to close amid refurbishment project

GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WCBD) – Some amenities at a Georgetown playground will be unavailable for several weeks while the public space undergoes renovations.

Georgetown city officials said the East Bay Park playground and picnic shelter areas will be closed beginning Tuesday through the end of March amid construction.

Visitors will be able to access the swing bay areas until the resurfacing phase in mid-March.

Officials say the new playground equipment is expected to be installed and the project completed by April.
