Free community health fair in Georgetown and Pawleys Island

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A free community health fair is scheduled in Georgetown County to give residents a healthy start to the new year.

The health fairs will provide free bone density screenings, blood pressure checks, and information to help improve overall health.

“At the YMCA of Coastal Carolina, we are proud to call Tidelands Health a trusted partner as we work collaboratively to improve the health and wellness of our region,” said David Byrd, CEO of the YMCA of Coastal Carolina. “These community health fairs are designed to give you the knowledge and tools you need to stay healthy or get healthy to live your best life.”

For a small fee, attendees can have blood drawn for a variety of lab services such as A1C, liquid panel, and a comprehensive metabolic panel.

Tidelands Health and the YMCA of Coastal Carolina offer health fairs to all community members without an appointment.

“A new year gives us all a fresh start, and what better time to focus on your health to make the most of the year ahead,” said Monica Grey, vice president at Tidelands Health. “These community health fairs will give you the chance to start 2025 with a priority on improving or maintaining your health long term through vital information and support from our team of experts.”

The health fairs will be offered at YMCA of Coastal Carolina locations:

  • Jan. 29, 7-11 a.m., Tidelands Health Georgetown Family YMCA, 529 Browns Ferry Road in Georgetown
  • Feb. 6, 7-11 a.m., Tidelands Health Pawleys Family YMCA, 12965 Ocean Highway on Pawleys Island
