Deadly crash closes lanes on Stono Bridge

JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. (WCBD) – Emergency crews are responding Wednesday afternoon to a deadly multi-vehicle crash on the Stono Bridge.

Officials with the Charleston Police Department said two vehicles were involved in the crash on Maybank Highway at the Headquarters Road.

Police said the bridge is closed in both directions and extended delays are expected.
