Charleston International to inspect airfield to determine flight reopenings

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The Charleston International Airport will have its airfield inspected on Thursday morning to determine if flights can resume.

The airport announced Joint Base Charleston will be inspecting the airfield. Then will determine if it is safe to reopen and resume flight operations.

Charleston International Airport reminded travelers to stay in direct contact with their airlines for flight updates.

If the inspections meet approval, runways, and the air traffic control tower are anticipated to reopen as early as 1 p.m.
