West Ashley shooting suspect arrested in Mount Pleasant

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – Law enforcement captured a suspect Monday in Mount Pleasant believed to be involved in a shooting that left one person injured.

The shooting occurred on Carriage Lane around 9:30 a.m. after a dispute between two individuals escalated, according to the Charleston Police Department.

The suspect, identified as Orlando Maurice Frasier, fled the scene. One person was injured and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The victim is expected to recover, officials said.

Around noon, Mount Pleasant officers spotted a vehicle matching Frasier’s vehicle description traveling on Chuck Dawley Boulevard.

Officers stopped the vehicle, and Frasier was apprehended before being transferred to Charleston Police custody.

Frazier is currently held at the Al Cannon Detention for attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
