Search continues for man who escaped custody near Andrews
GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The search continues Tuesday for a man who Georgetown County deputies said escaped arrest the day before.
William Dempsey Cooper, 40, escaped custody while he was being arrested on domestic violence charges at his Waterford Place home near Andrews on Monday afternoon.
The sheriff’s office said efforts to track Cooper with a K-9 and spot him with a drone were unsuccessful; however, officials said that the search continued throughout the night and will continue until he is captured.
Cooper is described as 5’8”, 180 pounds with blue eyes. He was last wearing a gray sweatshirt with light-colored jeans.
