Charleston County to hold swearing-in for council members

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Charleston County will hold a swearing-in ceremony for its council members on Thursday evening.

Ron Wehrman (Dist. 3), Henry E. Darby (Dist. 4), Kylon Middleton (Dist. 6), and Brantley Moody (Dist. 7) all won re-election during the Nov. 5 general election.

Herbert Sass, who currently serves as Charleston County Council chairman, will act as master of ceremonies for the swearing-in which is scheduled for 6 p.m.

Council members will also select the council’s chair and vice chair for 2025 during their meeting Thursday night, and the county’s finance committee will make their recommendations for the Greenbelt Advisory Board, Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, and Historic Preservation Commission.
