Three fatally shot, suspect found dead in apparent family dispute on Patriot Boulevard: NCPD
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — Three people were killed and a suspect was found dead in an apparent domestic dispute in Ladson on Friday.
Officers responded to the 9600 block of Patriots Boulevard shortly after 4:40 p.m. to a report of shots being fired.
Authorities said officers arrived to reports that the suspect was armed with an AR-style rifle and punched an individual while leaving the residence. The suspect also took a five-year-old child from the residence, according to the North Charleston Police Department (NCPD).
Officers entered the apartment and found three people dead, police said.
Witnesses reportedly provided a description of the supsect’s vehicle and officers were able to quickly locate him at a nearby address.
Police said the suspect exited the house holding the child as officers checked his vehicle. He then allegedly placed the child on the ground before fatally shooting himself.
No further information regarding the child was provided.
