NoMo’s Rutledge Cab Company announces abrupt closure

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A longtime Charleston eatery announced it served its last lunch plate Monday.

Rutledge Cab Company, opened by actor Bill Murray, Charleston RiverDogs co-owner Mike Veeck, and CEO of Zeta Compliance Technologies Brad Creger, closed down after being open for 12 years, the restaurant announced via social media.

Situated in the NoMo neighborhood, which stands for north of Morrison Drive, the burger joint opened in an abandoned service station on Rutledge Avenue in February 2012.

Since then, locals and tourists alike have enjoyed the American comfort food option.

Owners also said in the social statement that they would be renting the property to a new tenant, acting as the property landlord.

“It’s been our honor and privilege to serve our loyal customers. We are grateful for their friendship and patronage,” said partner Brad Creger. “We’d also like to thank our wonderful staff, past and present.”
