Did you miss Halloween in your neighborhood?

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Children in costumes will soon patrol Lowcountry neighborhoods in search of freights and candy. But with Halloween falling on a weekday – Thursday – some parents question if they missed the chance to Trick or Treat over the weekend.

The answer is no: Halloween festivities are still taking place on Thursday, October 31.

Many smaller communities may set a special date, but most areas, including the Lowcountry, will participate in the annual holiday on October 31st.

Traditionally, trick-or-treating begins sometime around dusk – when the sun begins to set – and can last until 8 or 9 p.m. Most houses decide to cut their porch light off when they’re out of candy or just ready to stop for the night.

Parents who choose not to participate in traditional door-to-door trick-or-treating can attend the many trunk-or-treats held around the Lowcountry.
