Crews extinguish fire at American Bio Mass in Walterboro

WALTERBORO, S.C. (WCBD) – Crews responded to an early morning fire at a company that disposes of non-hazardous chemicals.

Colleton County Fire Rescue said the fire was reported at American Bio Mass off Clearwater Drive on Thursday morning.

Chief Barry McRoy with Colleton County Fire Rescue said everyone made it out of the building before crews arrived. No injuries were reported.

The fire heavily damaged the building, forklifts, and tractors.

Chief McRoy said the fire is out, and crews are investigating the cause.
