Driver dies after crashing into trees on I-95 northbound

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A driver died Tuesday after crashing their pickup truck into trees along Interstate 95 in Dorchester County, according to state troopers.

Emergency crews responded to the scene on I-95 northbound near the 77-mile marker around 2:55 p.m.

The pickup was traveling north when it swerved into the cable barrier on the left side of the roadway. The vehicle then pivoted and ran off the interstate on the right side before striking a tree.

The driver was the only occupant in the pickup. The Dorchester County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the identity of the deceased.

Deputies with the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office assisted in response efforts.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating this collision.
