Fire sparks twice at West Ashley home; cause still under investigation

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Firefighters were called to a West Ashley home twice just hours apart.

Charleston firefighters were dispatched to Lavington Road around 11:40 p.m. Monday to investigate reports of smoke in the area. They discovered smoke coming from a two-story, single-family home and additional units were requested.

Crews ensured everyone had evacuated the home and began to attack the fire, officials said. The fire was controlled within 10 minutes.
