46 storm-related deaths reported in South Carolina
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCBD) – The number of deaths associated with Hurricane Helene continues to rise in South Carolina, according to state authorities.
South Carolina Department of Public Safety officials reported 46 people have died in the state so far. That number is up from the 41 reported Thursday afternoon.
The largest number of deaths, 10, was reported in Aiken followed by eight deaths in Spartanburg County and seven in Greenville County.
Deaths were confirmed through coroners in each county.
